Cuban singer Laritza Bacallao has decided to settle temporarily in Madrid, Spain, according to sources close to her production team. With the goal of continuing to develop her artistic career, the popular interpreter of songs such as Que suenen los tambores has chosen the Spanish capital as her new home for an indefinite period.

At 37 years old, Bacallao has accumulated more than two decades of musical trajectory, which has made her one of the most recognized voices in Cuba. However, her career has been marked by both success and controversy. The singer has been criticized on several occasions for her apparent closeness to the Cuban Government, especially after participating in projects such as the song Un hombre que sueña, dedicated to Fidel Castro.

Despite the criticism, Bacallao has maintained her focus on music. "It hurts me, but I cannot let it affect me. I am a human being with a heart, and it hurts when you are offended, but I have to keep singing and giving my best," she stated in an interview with Diario Las Américas.

Recently, Bacallao participated in the July 4th celebration at the residence of the United States ambassador in Havana, where she had the honor of performing the United States national anthem, which was confirmed by several attendees at the event.

Daughter of Ernesto Bacallao, singer of the famous orchestra Aragón, Laritza released in 2021 the album Que hablen, which includes hits such as Coge carretera, Tú besas rico, and Es magia. In addition, she paid tribute to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion with versions of their greatest hits I'm Every Woman and All By Myself.

During her time in Spain, Bacallao has had the opportunity to perform on several important stages. In February, she participated in the Drag Gala of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival, sharing the bill with figures such as Elvis Crespo and Manuel Turizo. That same month, she performed a concert at the Villanos venue in Madrid, reaffirming her commitment to continue her career in Europe while exploring new opportunities in the international sphere.

With this new stage in Spain, Laritza Bacallao seeks to expand her artistic projection and consolidate herself as a relevant figure both in the Latin music scene and in the European market.
