The Aragón Orchestra on its national tour

La Aragón, an orchestra symbol of Cuban popular music, will perform today and tomorrow evening on stages in the province of Ciego de Ávila to celebrate together with its followers the 80th anniversary of its creation.

The journey through Avilean territory is part of the national tour that this group is carrying out from Thursday, June 13 to July 21 to offer the people the best of its musical repertoire during these eight decades of artistic life.

Orlando Pino Amores, director of the Empresa Comercializadora de la Música y los Espectáculos (Musicávila), explained that the most famous of Cuban charanga groups will perform this Tuesday for the residents of the municipality of Morón in the José Martí park and the inhabitants of the Avilean capital city will enjoy themselves on the 26th at the Teatro Principal.

The visit of the emblematic ensemble will be an opportunity to enjoy, live, melodies ranging from traditional son to danzones, boleros, guarachas and other genres of Cuban music that marked an era, but which nowadays are well received by dancers.

This legendary orchestra, which has represented Cuba in several countries, was founded in Cienfuegos in 1939 by Orestes Aragón Cantero with the name Rítmica 39; later it would be called Rítmica Aragón and finally Orquesta Aragón
