The popular program Caso Cerrado hosted by Cuban doctor Ana María Polo will return with a new season following an agreement with production company Cinemat and Mega Global Entertainment (MGE), an independent audiovisual content distributor based in Miami, the distributor reported.

"I feel very excited to begin this next chapter of Caso Cerrado because I feel a deep gratitude toward the audience that has followed me throughout all these years," said Dr. Polo.

"I also feel a great commitment to continue providing new generations with empathetic, relevant, and human content that offers Hispanics around the world a concept of justice that includes different topics, especially in these moments in which we have faced strong challenges and different problems as humanity," she added.

Production company Cinemat and Mega Global Entertainment (MGE) will be in charge of the production and distribution of the new season of the television phenomenon Caso Cerrado with Dr. Ana María Polo, which will maintain the essence that has made it the longest-running and highest-rated program of its genre for more than 20 years.

The new season will be filmed in a studio with a new set and decoration, and will feature current and relevant content, as well as new sections that will allow the public to get even closer to Dr. Ana María Polo.

Cinemat, based in Miami and led by José Vicente Scheuren, had previously produced three successful seasons of the program.

"We have been fortunate to work for many years with Dr. Polo and to experience firsthand the admiration, respect, and affection that the public has for her everywhere in the world. She touches on relevant and human topics that are of universal interest, but she also has the magic of doing it in a human and approachable way that everyone is missing," said José Vicente Scheuren of Cinemat.

"That is why we feel very proud to work again with Dr. Polo in this new season, and to now have the MGE team to bring it to homes throughout the region."

International distribution will be handled by MGE, led by Esperanza Garay, a recognized industry executive who, during her extensive previous career at Telemundo, headed the international sales of the program for almost a decade, the press release noted.

"It fills us with satisfaction to have Dr. Ana María Polo among our offerings in this new stage of Caso Cerrado, because without a doubt there is no program or personality of her caliber and with her trajectory in the Latin American entertainment industry," said Esperanza Garay, CEO of MGE.

"The more than 20 million followers Dr. Polo has on social networks consistently ask her to return with new programs, and we are proud to work alongside Cinemat to make that wish a reality," the press release stated.

Ana María Polo ended her contract with Telemundo in 2019. A year later she acknowledged that she missed television.

"Television is like a bad and good drug. Good because someone who has that inside carries it and satisfies themselves by doing and expressing it. Bad because when you're not doing it you feel that little desire, that itch, which is one of the things that still makes me think I'm going to keep doing things because I still feel the itch and I miss it," she told People en español magazine.

At that time Polo did not close the door on filming new programs. "I feel that Caso Cerrado is still alive. It's a format that people like and, I don't know, based on the reception I receive from both fans and people in the industry, I feel that I still have the desire to do a little more. There are still unreleased programs that haven't aired. Telemundo still has them. But those programs are missing a very important ingredient, which is current relevance."
