The commemoration of the birth anniversary of National Poet Nicolás Guillén took place through virtual platforms.
Social and governmental organizations in Cuba paid tribute last Friday to Nicolás Cristóbal Guillén, commemorating the 118th anniversary of the birth of the Camagüey-born poet.
The Nicolás Guillén Foundation, together with the Ministry of Culture (Mincult), the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac), and other social organizations carried out various activities through digital platforms, as a preventive measure in the face of the health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Cuban poet Nicolás Guillén was born in the city of Camagüey on July 10, 1902, and worked during his life as a journalist and political activist defending cultural processes and transculturation.
