Juantorena is now out of danger

Alberto Juantorena Danger, president of the Cuban Athletics Federation, continues recovering at the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK).

This Friday his transfer from intensive care has been decided, as a clear improvement in his health is evident.

With this report, issued by doctor Enrique Lama Fernández, first-degree specialist in intensive medicine and emergencies at IPK, the daily JIT publications on this matter conclude.

We are pleased with the good news regarding this essential figure in our sport and wish him a complete recovery.

Details of the report from August 19:

. The patient is reported as stable, with clinical, pulmonary and imaging improvement.

. He is conscious, oriented, hemodynamically stable, breathing spontaneously and without need for supplemental oxygen.

. His transfer from intensive care has been decided.
