Cuban cyclist José Alberto Domínguez González claimed third place at the Clásica de la Chuleta, held in Segovia, Spain, over a distance of 160 kilometers — marking his first podium finish in European cycling. The young under-23 rider currently competes for the Natural Greatness-Rali-Alé team, based in Alcoy, Valencia, as part of a three-month development stint in the competitive European circuit.

Domínguez González, a two-time Cuban national road champion (2024 and 2025), arrived in Europe with an outstanding domestic résumé. His third place in Segovia confirms his progressive adaptation to the demanding style of European racing, where he has been competing in UCI-registered events since March 22, 2026. Reported by the Cuban newspaper Granma and the sports outlet JIT, the result was the best individual performance among the four Cuban cyclists competing in Europe that weekend.

The Cuban contingent racing in Spain also includes Sancti Spíritus rider Ricardo Delgado and Matanzas cyclists Rachel Silveira and Karen Martínez, the latter two competing for the Oiense-Escuela Estévez team. The four Cuban cyclists are using this European training period to sharpen their skills ahead of future international competitions.
