The Philharmonic Orchestra of the State of Chihuahua is scheduled to close its Fall Season with a luxury concert in Chihuahua on December 16th, at the Teatro de los Héroes, at 8:00 p.m.; and in Ciudad Juárez on the 17th of this month, at the Teatro Víctor Hugo Rascón Banda, at 8 p.m., the event "All Tchaikovsky" will feature Jorge Luis Prats, one of the most important pianists today; and conductor Iván del Prado, being a show to raise funds for the Philharmonic.

Attendees will be able to hear: P.I Tchaikovsky Slavic March, P.I Tchaikovsky Piano No. 1 Op. 23 in B-flat Major, with soloist Jorge Luis Prats, as well as P.I Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4 Op. 36 in F Minor, which are part of the program.

He was born in Camagüey, Cuba, and studied music at the National School of Arts in Havana. At age 20 he won the "First Grand Prize" of the International Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris, France, and was also awarded additional trophies that had been withheld: the award for best interpreter of the works of Maurice Ravel and André Jolivet, the Chevillon Bonnaud and the Mohan Prize.

He additionally received a series of scholarships: first for the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he continued his studies with the great master Rudolf Kerer; later at the Paris Conservatory he was under the tutelage of Magda Tagliaferro, and then moved to Vienna where, at the "Higher Academy of Music and Performing Arts" today Universität für Musik und darstelle Kunst, he specialized in the style of the Viennese classics with professor Paul Badura-Skoda.

His concert tours have taken him to all countries of the European Continent, North, Central and South America, China, Japan and Korea, likewise, he has performed in the major concert halls, including: The Royal Festival Hall in London, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, similarly, he has been a soloist with the orchestras: of the BBC, and the "Royal Philharmonic" of London, the Dallas Symphony, the EOS of New York, Lamoreaux and Pas de Loup of Paris, the Berlin Opera Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic and others.

He is a highly sought-after performer by the Mexico City Orchestra, and has occasionally included in his tours performances with different orchestras such as the Bogotá Philharmonic, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Caracas, National of Spain, of Galicia, of Barcelona, Gulbenkian of Portugal, National of France, of Paris, of Valencia, Amsterdam Symphony, Verdi of Milan, Shanghai Symphony, Macau Philharmonic, Frankfurt Opera.

His symphonic repertoire includes several Mozart concertos, the five Beethoven concertos and Choral Fantasy, the two Brahms concertos, all of Rachmaninov's concertos, the two Shostakovich concertos, Prokofiev (second and third) the two Liszt concertos, the two Chopin concertos, as well as the compositions for piano and orchestra by: Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Grieg, Schumann, Dohnanyi, Tchaikovsky and Scriabin.

For solo piano, it includes all of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier and Partitas. All of Mozart's sonatas. Many of Beethoven's sonatas. Almost all of Chopin's works. By Liszt: the sonata, the études, Rhapsodies and the Mephisto Waltz. The "Petrushka" Suite.
