The Spanish athlete, 24 years old, Ana Peleteiro and her coach, retired Cuban long jumper Iván Lázaro Pedroso Soler, were the protagonists of a fun post-quarantine video that has become a viral phenomenon.
Last Saturday, the current European indoor triple jump champion published footage where both can be seen in the patio of her house in Galicia, dancing none other than "Suavemente", the 1999 hit by Elvis Crespo.
"The reality of a barbecue in Phase 2 (…) Iván Pedroso and I in pure form. A friendship that will last forever. Thanks 'coach' for this incredible Saturday. You're the best", Peleteiro wrote alongside the clip.
Pedroso —a long jump specialist— is one of the most important figures in Cuban sports. Above all, for being the only human being to have broken the psychological barrier of 9 meters in a valid jump on the board. Among his multiple awards, he has the Olympic gold in Sydney 2000.
Meanwhile, Peleteiro is considered a national record holder for Spain in all age categories. The Galician athlete also has a guaranteed spot for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo.
