Iván Horta Rodríguez new technical director of women's boxing in Cuba

The National Boxing Commission reported this Tuesday that Iván Horta Rodríguez del Rey has been appointed technical director of the national women's preselection in that sport.

The communication specifies that Horta was an athlete, member of the national youth preselection and, after the study period that followed his retirement from active sport, worked as a coach at the EIDE in Cienfuegos between 2018 and 2023.

It highlights that due to his results in the school categories he was promoted to coach of the national youth preselection, a position he held until the moment this new task was assigned to him.

The message issued to the media clarifies that Santiago Suárez, who for several years simultaneously directed the youth and women's programs, will now focus on the first of those activities.
