With the special screening of the film Strawberry and Chocolate, a cycle dedicated to actor Jorge Perugorría will begin today in this capital, which will extend until January 17th, at the La Rampa cinema.

A total of 10 films comprise this cycle, among which are both national and international productions that have been starred by Perugorría, in order to bring the public closer to his acting work again.

It will be the restored version of Strawberry and Chocolate (Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabío, 1993), which will inaugurate the showcase, which until the 10th will project national films in which the actor has participated.

According to the Cubacine portal, in addition to the classic chosen for the opening, the selection also includes Vertical Love (Arturo Sotto, 1997), Waiting List (Juan Carlos Tabío, 2000), Honey for Oshún (Humberto Solás, 2001) and The Wall of Words (Fernando Pérez, 2014).

With that first part, it will be possible to enjoy his versatility in the world of acting, since if in Strawberry and Chocolate he manages to change the life of a young man with closed thoughts, in Waiting List he will appear involved in a story of love and friendship from his supposed blindness.

In Honey for Oshún we find him as a Literature professor who searches for his mother in Cuba; and in The Wall of Words he masterfully assumes the role of Luis, who suffers from dystonia that prevents him from communicating. And finally he can be enjoyed in Vertical Love as a doctor who, by preventing a young woman's suicide, gets into trouble, Cubacine shared.

Jorge Perugorría Around the World is the second moment of the cycle, which from the 13th to the 17th proposes the films A Private Matter (Imanol Arias, 1996), Bámbola (Bigas Luna, 1996), Volaverunt (Bigas Luna, 1999), Oedipus Mayor (Jorge Alí Triana, 1996) and Doña Bárbara (Betty Kaplan, 1999).

At 5:00 in the afternoon, all these films will be available, according to the daily schedule, at the La Rampa cinema, an opportunity that will allow a return to Jorge Perugorría's work and reaffirm the merit he has received as an actor, both in Cuba and abroad.
