On November 24, 2020, the jury of the National Music Prize 2020, composed of Digna Guerra as President and Frank Fernández, Jesús Gómez Cairo, Beatriz Márquez, Alfredo Muñoz, Adalberto Álvarez and Pancho Amat decided to award two national music prizes this year:
Huberal Herrera Lescano, Pianist, born on May 28, 1929, scholar of the work of pianist composer Ernesto Lecuona, recognized as one of his most thorough researchers and gifted interpreter, from which he rescued for posterity old recordings, resulting in three CDs recorded in Spain by the General Society of Authors and Publishers SGAE.
Edesio Alejandro Rodríguez Salva, Guitarist and arranger, born on March 28, 1958. Composer who has directed and orchestrated the music of more than 40 theatrical works for a good number of the country's theatrical groups, has ventured into musical styles and forms ranging from the classics to the contemporary.
The Cuban Institute of Music and the Ministry of Culture congratulate both musicians.
