Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés has been hospitalized in Madrid, Spain, the city where he has been living for several years.
According to local media reports, his health had worsened in recent days, which is why he had to be taken to the hospital.
The concerts that the musician had scheduled for the coming weeks were canceled.
"The Pablo Milanés concert, scheduled for December 5th at the Teatro Nacional, has been definitively canceled. The local production, in full agreement with the artist's office, decided to cancel the date," states a note published in El Caribe by journalist Alfonso Quiñones.
Another of his performances, scheduled for this Sunday, November 13th in Pamplona, was also canceled.
El Diario de Navarra indicated that the concert was being suspended "due to an intestinal indisposition suffered recently that has led the artist to rest per medical advice."
Milanés performed last June in Havana. The musician offered a massive concert at the Ciudad Deportiva.
The troubadour was scheduled to perform in the Avellaneda Hall of the Teatro Nacional as part of his "Días de Gloria" tour, but after complaints on social media about ticket sales to state organizations, the musician moved the concert so that more people could attend.
"Pablo sang, and it was beautiful, unique and now today it is historic. He was accompanied by a piano and a cello, but it sounded better than the Vienna Philharmonic. The lights and audio were up to the moment. The thousands of people who attended the Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva had their moment of Glory, and Yolanda, the chorus, the cheers, whistles and applause with lots of energy were an essential part of the show," wrote one of the concert attendees.
