Outstanding Argentine musicians will unite their voices in Buenos Aires on the upcoming February 25th at a concert-tribute to the late Cuban musician Rafael de la Torre, founder of the Nueva Trova.

The Argentina Hall of the iconic Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK) will host this tribute to De la Torre, who with his art also left his mark on the music of this southern land, a country that welcomed him in 1993 and where he passed away in 2021, a victim of Covid-19.

Rafaelito, as his loved ones affectionately called him, will be honored by several of the musicians with whom he shared throughout his career, among them troubadour Paula Ferré, who expressed her happiness and emotion at participating alongside other colleagues in this recital in honor of one of her friends.

According to advance word from the CCK, the concert will feature the participation of renowned musicians, family members and disciples of the Cuban artist, who will perform works from his different periods.

During the presentation, images with testimonies from outstanding musicians from the island will also be projected, such as Silvio Rodríguez and Omara Portuondo, the diva of Buena Vista Social Club, among many others.

The show will have free admission and tickets will be available starting February 22nd from the cultural institution's website.

De la Torre was greatly beloved within the Argentine artistic community and also by his Cuban compatriots residing in this country.

A member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and of the Argentine Association of Performers, during his outstanding career he traveled to more than 40 countries with his music, before settling in Argentina.
