With the objective of highlighting the intense and fruitful teaching and research activity that Professor Alberto Juan Dorta Contreras developed in the different contexts where he worked, this activity will emphasize his contribution to science through stories narrated by his students and colleagues in first person, from their personal experiences, as a tribute to one who was in life a scientist devoted to the formation of new researchers and who passed away in 2021 as a consequence of COVID-19.
The tribute, which will take place on January 15, will be an opportune space to celebrate Cuban Science Day for the year 2022.
For this purpose, a simple virtual event has been designed, as he would have wanted it, through the Virtual Classroom of the Faculty of Medical Sciences "Miguel Enríquez", to which Professor Dorta was linked in the last 25 years of his life, researching and educating new generations.
It was in the Central Laboratory of Cerebrospinal Fluid (LABCEL), which he designed and founded on June 14, 2014, where he carried out his most significant research in the area of neurosciences and the usefulness of the Reibergram in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of diverse diseases.
All colleagues who were related to Professor Dorta's research and educational work are invited to describe in this initial approach to his legacy how their experiences were and what the opportunity to be witnesses and participants in his creative work contributed to them.
