Haila acts as a lawyer in new Cuban soap opera by Lester Hamlet

Cuban singer Haila María Mompié has released the first images of her acting debut in a new telenovela by director Lester Hamlet, where she plays a lawyer.

As announced last September, the "Diva del pueblo" was signed for what appears to be a small role in the telenovela "Tú", where she shares roles with major figures such as Isabel Santos and Fernando Echevarría.

"I'm grateful to life for allowing me to experience other fields of art, it's a great honor for me to be part of the masterful and wonderful cast of this telenovela where I have the role of a lawyer," wrote the former member of Bamboleo on her Instagram account.

The singer also thanked Lester Hamlet for the opportunity. "Infinite thanks for the opportunity and for your confidence, you're the best. This 2020 'Tú' will arrive for all the public and it will be spectacular," she added.

In the cast will also be another singer: rapper Telmary. The performances of stars from the Cuban stage are also expected, such as Jacqueline Arenal, Daisy Granados, María Luisa Jiménez, Bárbaro Marín, Edith Massola and Patricio Woods.

"The novela will also be the opportunity to entrust my sister Haila Mompié to present herself as an actress. It will be a pleasure and a celebration to see her grow and show herself to her audience from another perspective. Welcome! Thank you for the pleasure of your smile and your Cubanness," wrote Lester in a Facebook post published in September 2019.
