The album Ancestros Sinfónico, by the group Síntesis, Eme and X Alfonso, took home the Grand Prize tonight at the Cubadisco 2023 International Fair.
In the Sonero and Peasant Tradition category, the album Memorias, by Pancho Amat and his Cabildo del Son, was the winner, as reported at the gala held in the Avellaneda hall of the National Theater in this capital.
Also awarded with first prizes were Rolando Luna for Mi alma en canciones, in the Instrumental category, and Los Muñequitos de Matanzas with the recording 70 años con el poder de la rumba, in Rumba and Ritual Tradition.
Meanwhile, Batanga, by El Nene and la Orquesta Estrellas de Areíto, won first place in Varied Traditional.
Other winners were Habana in the grand manner, by Ernán López-Nussa, in Jazz; A veces a voces, by Anaís Abreu, Ivette Cepeda, Yaima Sáez and Isis Flores, in the Song category; and the duo Buena Fe with the album Morada, in Contemporary Song.
This Sunday a concert will take place featuring the National Symphonic Orchestra together with Marta Gómez, at 11:00, local time, in the Covarrubias hall, also at the National Theater of Cuba, an excellent offering that will put a final point to the greatest celebration of the recording industry in the Caribbean nation.
