Cuban group Vocal Leo sings and wins awards at Germany's Choral Competition

Within more than 250 applicants, Vocal Leo was selected to compete alongside 14 musical groups in the XVI International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2019. This competition hosted in Germany the voices of the Cuban group Vocal Leo, directed by maestro Corina Campos.

The competition, with more than 25 years of existence, and one of the most recognized internationally, began its sessions on June 7th, and concluded with an awards gala on the 12th of this month.

Within more than 250 applicants, Vocal Leo was selected to compete alongside 14 musical groups from the United States, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, the Philippines, and Turkey.

The event, divided into categories, such as mixed choirs and popular choral music, constitutes an ideal setting to interact with other ensembles, represent traditions, experiment and establish friendly relationships beyond borders.

The Chamber Choir Vocal Leo, directed by Maestro Corina Campos, obtained the "Special Award from the Jury for outstanding performance and for the vocal quality of the presentation." Also the "Popularity Award" in the XVI International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2019, one of the most famous competitions of its kind in the world.
