Grand Tribute to Silvio Rodríguez with Young Voices at the Municipal Theater

For followers of Silvio Rodríguez in Antofagasta this news will interest them… a lot. A great tribute to the Cuban singer called «Concierto Voces y Cantares» with his greatest hits will be held on Friday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m. at the Teatro Municipal de la Corporación Cultural (CCA).

A presentation that will feature the choir of the Liceo Experimental Artístico (LEA) along with invited musicians as well as teachers and former students of the educational institution.

General admission is $3,000 and tickets are already on sale at the same venue from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Limited spots.

It will be a very emotional concert with the strength that one of the most important singer-songwriters in the Latin American music scene throughout its history brings.

For Ester Rodríguez, Director of the LEA Choir, because of this concert "we wanted to venture into Silvio's lyrics so that today's young people stimulate their critical sense in society. It is important work since the participants learned about and immersed themselves in Cuban trova, which played an important role in Latin American music, influencing a lot the new song that added several exponents in our country as well".

The Youth Choir consists of 70 members including mezzo-soprano, contralto, tenor and bass, being a great spectacle that you cannot miss.

Within the repertoire they will present, a varied program stands out with the great hits of the Cuban troubadour such as "La Maza", "Ojalá", "Te Amaré", "El Necio", "Locuras" and "Unicornio", among others.

This musical proposal is made possible through a cooperation agreement between the Liceo Experimental Artístico and the Corporación Cultural de Antofagasta.
