Spring Galas of the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba Company

The National Theater of Cuba announces a season of the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company: "Spring Galas" that will take place in the Avellaneda hall on March 6, 7, and 8, 2020. Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. as well as Sunday at 5 p.m.

The presentations will bring to the stage premieres as well as significant pieces from LADC's repertoire, performed by young dancers who are members of the Vocational Workshops, the Children's Ballet and Youth Ballet, the professional level of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba School and its guests.

The company will receive Charlene Campbell Carey, creator and president of the Ballet Beyond Borders Festival and artistic director of the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre, accompanied by Karen Carreno, Executive Director of the event, and dancers Piper Leistiko and Naomi Bryne who will participate in the galas.

The international guests will complete a cultural exchange program that includes a master class by the artistic director of the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre for the members of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba.

The dancers, who are coming with the president of the Ballet Beyond Borders Festival, were recipients of scholarships awarded by maestro Lizt Alfonso at that competition's edition in January 2020, in Missoula, United States.
