Footballer Marcel Hernández makes donation of cleats to La Habana FC club during his visit to Cuba

Footballer Marcel Hernández's generous gesture toward Cuban players during his visit to the island did not go unnoticed by soccer followers, who praise him for not forgetting his roots.

After years without seeing them, the Caribbean striker finally traveled to the island and was able to reunite with his family in recent days. Additionally, he was part of a sporting moment that could be seen on social networks.

Weeks ago, the striker who dazzles in Costa Rica's league was acquitted of a trial that weighed against him under the accusation of rape and his passport was returned to him, which meant he could leave the country and almost immediately traveled to the Greater Antilles.

In his posts you could see the reunion with family, hugs and joy at stepping on his land again after so many years. Also, a video in which he is seen donating soccer cleats, along with which he left a message of gratitude to his teammates in Costa Rica's league.

"Thanks to all my teammates at Cartaginés for this gift for LA Habana F.C club," he wrote.

"That says a lot about you, you show love for your own and very good values, great Marcel!" a follower commented.

"That's what you call being grateful. Whatever much or little one obtains and shares with others, that multiplies and makes you a better human being. Not forgetting your origins is the key to how well things will go for you in life. Congratulations on that beautiful and great gesture!" another wrote.

The striker had expressed, days before, his excitement about being back in his country, with his people.

"Every wait has a reward. There are no words to express what I feel after so many years without seeing them, hugging them and kissing them," he expressed on his social networks at that time.
