Cuba Congratulates Five-Time Champion Mijaín López on His 42nd Birthday

Many Cubans congratulated five-time Olympic champion Mijaín López Núñez today on his 42nd birthday.

Mijaín López Núñez was born in the municipality of Consolación del Sur, province of Pinar del Río, on August 20, 1982.

The Cuban athlete made history at the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games by becoming the only athlete to win the same individual event in five consecutive Olympics (following Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020).

López Núñez has been a deputy to Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power in the IX Legislature and the current X Legislature, representing his native municipality.
