On September 1st, Pablo Bergues Ramírez passed away in Havana, who was, for more than forty years, screenwriter of the program Escriba y Lea.
Author of novels, he is among the greatest exponents of detective literature on the island.
He entered television in 1969, and, among other programs, was screenwriter for Álbum de Cuba and the program Tránsito, Ayer en 12, of the specials Cuba Va, and also of historical documentaries, Nuestros hijos and comienza con la vida.
He served as coordinator of UNEAC in San Miguel del Padrón in Havana. He was a deputy to the National Assembly and member of important commissions of the Cuban Parliament.
Among his main recognitions he was awarded: the Medal of Combatant of the Rebel Army, Distinction for National Culture, La Giraldilla de La Habana, Gitana Tropical, Prize of the Neighborhood of Defense of the Revolution Committees, several Prizes from the Anniversary Contest of the Triumph of the Revolution, of detective literature from MININT and the Small Screen of Cuban Television.
