In the morning hours of August 21, 2020, the distinguished Cuban radio, film and TV actor Norberto Blanco passed away in Havana.
Throughout his career he appeared in and starred in major productions at the now-defunct Radio Liberación and later on television, such as in the dramatized programs Aventuras, Teatro ICR, Telenovelas and El Cuento, working alongside Antonio Vázquez Gallo, Raúl Pérez, Gómez Reyes, Miguel Sanabria, Amado Cabezas and Xiomara Blanco.
We remember Norberto for his participation in Aventuras. He appeared in about fifteen episodes under the direction of filmmaker Erick Kaupp. And for Los Mosqueteros, for which he had to specialize as a swordsman. He also worked in El vizconde de Braguelón, the final part of the trilogy about the musketeers, by Alejandro Dumas.
In the film industry he participated in various productions, among which stands out the film "The Strange Case of Rachel K", directed by Oscar Valdés in 1973.
In 2016 he received the ACTUAR Prize for Lifetime Achievement, as a fitting tribute to his professional trajectory.
With his passing, Cuba loses one of the most remembered dramatic actors by several generations in the country. Norberto Blanco was 82 years old when he died.
