The Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) regrets the passing of the outstanding Cuban radio and television actress Marta del Río, a multifaceted figure of the performing arts with the highest honors in these media.
From its Facebook profile, that institution conveys heartfelt condolences to family and friends. Founder of the ICRT, she was called by some the queen of dramatizations. Co-star alongside José Antonio Rivero of the popular television program Casos y cosas de casa which was broadcast for 14 consecutive years, at the beginning of the triumph of the Revolution.
One of the most charismatic faces of Cuban television and recipient of multiple accolades, among them the National Television Prize in 2007 and the Acting Prize for a Lifetime of Work. "Her imprint will always remain in all her people," emphasizes the UNEAC statement.
