Cuban actress Nilda Collado dies

The National Television Prize winner (2009), Nilda Collado passed away this Wednesday, February 19 in Havana at the age of 79.

Nilda began her artistic career in 1957 within Cuban television, specifically at CMQ TV, as the main model for Regalías "El cuño", a prestigious Cuban cigar brand.

She was a dancer, commercial model, actress, and dubbing director for Cuban film and television.

Among her participation in Cuban television stand out: Rosas a crédito; La dama de las Camelias; Para empezar a vivir; Casos y cosas de casa; Tía Tata cuenta cuentos, among others.

In theater she will be remembered for her participation in the works: Manolo es mi mujer; Nacida ayer and Contigo pan y cebolla.

In radio she performed in humorous programs, dramatized productions, theater, adventures, children's shows and soap operas.

In 2015 she received the Honorary Title in the first edition of the Enrique Almirante Prize and in 2016 she was awarded the ACTUAR Prize for Lifetime Achievement, granted by the Artistic Agency of Performing Arts ACTUAR.

Nilda was the wife of the famous Cuban clown Erdwin Fernández and is the mother of actor Erdwin Fernández Jr.
