Researcher Olivia Miranda Francisco Passes Away

The Academy of Sciences of Cuba mourned the passing of the eminent Cuban scientist Olivia Miranda Francisco, a Member of Merit of the institution.

In extensive information about her virtues, the entity defined Miranda Francisco as a woman of thought, committed to the history of her homeland, Latin America, and a distinguished revolutionary.

In the statement, the multiple distinctions received during her long and fruitful life were specified; likewise, her activism and commitment to the tasks of the institution were highlighted, especially for her contributions during the debate on the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic.

The Academy of Sciences of Cuba added that the members of the Section of Social Sciences, deeply distressed by the death of Olivia Miranda Francisco, extend their condolences to family members, friends, and comrades in struggle.
