Today, June 10, 2020, at 04:07 a.m., at the age of 97, Rosalía Palet Bonavía passed away in Miami, surrounded by some family members and friends. Born in New York to Spanish parents, known in Cuba and the world as Rosita Fornés, a Cuban artist, the queen of the performing arts of our country, as reported by the artist's official Facebook page.

The Ministry of Culture's page on the same social network adds that our National Theater Award winner 2001, who also held other high distinctions and recognitions, will always be remembered by her audience, conquered throughout the world and especially by the people of Cuba.

"We offer our condolences to family, friends, and her great audience." "I lived the happiest moments of my life on stage, my audience always received me with love. That is the best recognition for an artist. Thank you!", she commented some time ago in an interview.

The digital publication of the renowned artist offers its condolences "to all those who have loved her, have admired her throughout her long life, to her large family, to the hundreds of friends all over the world and to the thousands of admirers who have sent to her Official Facebook Page an immense number of messages of support and hope these days and that I have been unable to respond to all".

Our dear Rosita leaves us, by the law of life, after suffering from respiratory failure, an illness with which she fought for several years, surrounded by love and without suffering.

Cuba is in mourning, Spanish-speaking culture loses, perhaps, the last of its great divas, the most versatile Cuban artist, the actress, singer and dancer who conquered the hearts not only of Cubans, but also of Mexicans, Spaniards and all audiences where she displayed her unparalleled art.

May Rosalía Rest in Peace, for Rosita Fornés, the greatest Cuban artist of all time will never die, she will remain in our hearts and her art that she gave with 80 years of success in the encyclopedias of world culture.
