Last March 13th, Doctor in Sciences, Professor Desiderio Pozo Lauzán, Honorary Member of the Cuban Society of Pediatrics and the Provincial Chapter of Havana, passed away in Havana.
The beloved professor was an eminent figure in Cuban Pediatrics, a paradigm in care, teaching and research in the difficult field of Pediatric Neurology. For more than 50 years he remained active at William Soler Hospital and was also a distinguished full professor and researcher, permanent consultant of his specialty for our country and for other nations; exemplary father, beloved friend and colleague.
He received multiple decorations and recognitions, within and outside his Homeland, throughout his life dedicated to children's health.
Member of the Editorial and Advisory Committee of the Cuban Journal of Pediatrics and other national and international publications as well as of several national scientific groups and committees, he served as tutor and advisor for numerous theses and scientific works that received recognition in Cuba and abroad.
His modesty, simplicity, humanism and his permanent willingness to share with colleagues his great theoretical and practical experience in pediatrics and neuropediatrics, made him worthy of the respect, affection and admiration of those who knew him.
