Cuban students won silver medals at the twenty-fifth Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad

Students Ián David Lorenzo García from Havana, IPVCE Vladimir Ilich Lenin, and Dalía Oliver Ballesteros from Villa Clara, IPVCE Ernesto Guevara, won silver medals at the twenty-fifth Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (OMCC), after accumulating 31 and 27 points, respectively.



By country, Mexico placed first with 142 points, followed by Colombia (84) and El Salvador (64). Cuba finished in fifth place with 58 points.



 



The recently concluded Mathematics competition was held this year in El Salvador, from July 21 to 29. The venue of the international event hosted 12 countries from the Central American and Caribbean region.



The Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad is considered a platform for developing young mathematical talent in the region, with high recognition in the academic field.
