The Cuban group Síntesis, along with artists X and Eme Alfonso, will present live their latest album Ancestros Sinfónico on June 23 and 24 at the National Theater of Cuba, they announced today.
For the first time the album will be performed live on stage and for this they will have the participation of the Lyceum Orchestra of Havana and the National Choir of Cuba.
Fábrica de Arte Cubano will be involved in the production, and the host artists, who form a family, remind their followers on social networks that the album is available and free for Cuba at the link: https://facstore.live.
Ancestros Sinfónico premiered on May 27, 2022 on digital platforms and features 10 classic songs from Síntesis's trilogy reinterpreted by X Alfonso.
Also on digital platforms X Alfonso advanced that this will be a unique experience and those who attend the performances in the Avellaneda room of the National Theater will be able to see a total of 113 Cuban musicians on stage.
This album has great international recognition as it won the Latin Grammy 2022 in the category of Best Folkloric Album and was featured on the list of the 15 Best Latin Albums of last year, according to the NPR Musical media project in the United States.
The award-winning album also had the collaboration of Cuban musician Leo Brouwer and researcher Natalia Bolívar as advisor on Afro-Cuban religions, while it gained notoriety by presenting Afro-Cuban sounds in symphonic format, in which string and wind instruments stand out.
It combined emblematic songs from the group's repertoire composed by Carlos and Eme Alfonso, Esteban Puebla and Lucía Huergo, which now appear as a symphonic suite as it saw the light under the FacMusic label, based on the CD Ancestros, recorded 35 years ago by Síntesis.
The albums Ancestros I, II and III of this band are part of the classics of Cuban rock-fusion, which their authors gave an originality based on the fusion, for the first time, of Afro-Cuban ritual music with contemporary music.
Síntesis combines its repertoire with songs with texts in Spanish, and elements of the fusion of Cuban rhythms with universal sounds and the group's own elaboration of songs of Afro-Cuban origin, sung in their original language.
