The world record holder and Guinness record holder for ball control, Erick Hernández, set a new mark in his specialty this Saturday.
This time he added the title in the category of most touches in one hour with any part of the body by achieving a record of 13,985 accomplished at the Copacabana hotel in La Habana.
The previous record was held by Mexican Abraham Muñoz, who had achieved 11,901 touches of the ball.
The Master Controller had already surpassed that test with more than 12,000 touches, but on that occasion the Guinness Book of Records did not ratify it for considering the presented evidence insufficient.
On this occasion a group of international referees acted as observers and there was extensive photographic documentation to begin the validation process.
"This test is very intense and required exhaustive preparation, but I have been preparing for a long time and was ready to do it," Hernández assured.
He also wanted to thank the work team that provided support, as well as the group of referees and the Cuban Football Association.
He recently set the mark of 3:07:28 hours controlling the sphere from a seated position with one and a half kilograms of weight on his legs.
The former footballer boasts an enviable record by setting records in this discipline, to the point that this was the number 80 in his extensive career.
