The Cuban Liván Moinelo kept today with his indecipherable pitches after his exit from the bullpen and contributed to the success of the SoftBank Hawks by 6-1 against the Nippon Ham Fighters, in the 2020 season of Japanese professional baseball.
At the Pay Pay Dome in Fukuoka, the left-handed relief pitcher from Pinar allowed one hit without runs and struck out three batters in one inning, to lower his ERA to 1.13 and post an exquisite record of 30 strikeouts in 15 appearances on the mound, which gives him a rate of two per inning.
Meanwhile, at the Nagoya Dome, Cuban Dayán Viciedo got a hit in four plate appearances and drove in one run in the 3-9 loss against the Hanshin Tigers.
The powerful first baseman and cleanup hitter, who had not been able to get hits in his last two games, reduced his average to .301, but increased his total RBIs to 26.
His compatriot and team partner, catcher from Yumurí Ariel Martínez, went 4-for-2, with two singles and one strikeout, to raise his average to .340.
And center fielder from Villa Clara Leonys Martin went 4-for-1 in the Lotte Marines' 2-4 loss to the Seibu Lions and lowered his average to .273.
