Cuban vocalist Eme Alfonso starred in the Tiny Desk Home musical initiative, which celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, with a series of concerts from home and connects renowned artists from Latin America.
Alfonso is part of the select list of island musicians who have participated in the renowned project sponsored by the National Public Radio station (NPR) in the United States, which organizes events in a reduced format to showcase artists from the continent.
The singer honored her Afro-Cuban roots and emphasized the legacy of her musical and blood family, led by bassist, composer and director Carlos Alfonso along with his group Síntesis, a pioneer in the fusion of jazz and folk songs in Cuba.
