Young Cuban baseball player Luis Robert has just bought a mansion in Weston, Florida, which has broken the record for the most expensive house in the city's history, despite receiving a million-dollar discount on the property.

According to Realtor.com, Luis Robert bought a 1.5-acre mansion with a 7-bedroom house and lake views.

Luis Robert's new possession, who is 25 years old, cost $12.5 million, a price he obtained after a reduction from the initial asking price at which this property came on the market, which was $14 million.

It is worth noting that Luis Robert signed a record contract for a baseball player WITHOUT making his MLB debut, when in 2020 he agreed to a $50 million deal with the Chicago White Sox, a figure that could rise to $88 million if the team exercises the options in the new agreement for 2026 and 2027.

The Realtor.com report adds that the mansion has 12,323 square feet of space, with an elevator, Carrara Turkish granite flooring, gym, heated swimming pool, spa for 12 people, recreational sports area that includes a basketball court and trampoline, as well as a home theater.

The price per square foot came to $994, which constitutes a record in Weston.
