Radio Host Abel Álvarez Enjoys His Vacation in Cuba

The popular Cuban broadcaster Abel Álvarez is visiting the Caribbean island, enjoying a vacation that in no way keeps him from sharing with his Cuban followers, as he made clear on his social media.

Álvarez has divided his time on the island between Havana and Varadero, and at every moment of the trip he has received the love of the public that still remembers him and even follows his interview program on YouTube "Abel en cualquier parte".

There has also been time to reunite with old friends like Tahimí Alvariño. "Friends, laughter, love, joy, hugs, anecdotes, projects, endless conversation... A reunion with special people that I love so much, with my brother and coincident Carlos Barba Salva and my other brother Abel Álvarez," Alvariño said on Facebook with several photos.

"Great reunion," expressed Álvarez, who lives in Los Angeles, United States, and is visiting Cuba.

"When you arrive at Varadero beach and as I walk the public always receives me with affection. Thank you," wrote the Cuban radio host on his Instagram account along with photos with visitors and workers from the Matanzas beach.

In the same post, many of his followers also wished the communicator an excellent vacation, and assured him that they all remember him for his great and genuine work in Cuban television.

In addition to this interview program on YouTube, Álvarez currently works as a presenter of Noticias Estrella TV, on the channel of the same name. A media outlet aimed at the Latino and Hispanic community in the United States.

This is not the first time the presenter has returned to Cuba, he did so in 2019, after eleven years away from Cuban soil, however, Álvarez's visit always awakens the emotions and memories of those who have followed his career since its beginnings.

Álvarez began in 1993 at Radio Güines. Years later he moved to Havana and worked at various radio stations, including Radio Nacional on the program "De mañana". Later in 2005, he won the popularity award in a contest celebrating the 20 years of the radio station.

In 2000, he began working for Cuban television on the CHTV channel. There he was the host of the newscast "Resumen del Año" and won awards for the Cuban National TV Festival. Then in 2002 he began with national television in various music and interview programs. Among them, "Mediodía en TV" which he hosted and produced. On this program he won the award for most popular host in the country in 2005.
