The former pitcher Braudilio Vinent remained hospitalized yesterday, Friday, at the Saturnino Lora Teaching Clinical Surgical Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, due to a urinary condition, reported the CMKC radio station.

Vinent arrived at the medical center with urinary obstruction and the doctors had to insert a catheter, perform several tests and intensive treatment, specified doctor Rafael Suárez.

"At this moment he no longer has the catheter, he is eating better and shows good spirits," added the specialist.

According to the doctor, based on the results of the remaining complementary tests, the procedure to follow will be defined, which could be medical discharge with specific medication treatment, depending on the pathology, and surgical treatment is not even ruled out.

The legendary 72-year-old former Santiago pitcher recognized all the shows of support and affection from the fans and thanked the treatment received by the medical staff attending to him at the hospital.

"I went through a moment when I thought I would not recover, but I am already much better and everyone can be sure that Vinent will return to his usual daily routine," he said.

Vinent is a gold medalist in World Championships and Pan American, Central American and Caribbean Games. His glorious performances in 20 National Series, combined with his exploits in international events with the national team, give him the credentials to be considered, by many, the best pitcher in Cuban baseball after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959.
