The film Mambo Man, by Cuban filmmaker Edesio Alejandro and British-Iranian Mo Fini, adds another award today by being selected as Best Feature Film of the season by the Best Global Shorts festival.
With this award, the audiovisual work increases its list of accolades, which includes some 15 awards, among them Best Direction and Best Fiction Film at the Festigious International Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the Florence Film Awards, and Best Foreign Fiction Film at the Moody Crab Film in India.
'And today we reach 15 awards, [...], I am very happy, congratulations to my entire Mambo Man team, these awards belong to all of us, [...], everyone is essential, thank you all,' wrote Edesio Alejandro on his Facebook profile.
The independently produced film, shot on location in the eastern region of Cuba, was produced by Tumi Music, an English company that has been recording Cuban traditional music artists for years.
The cast of the film features renowned Cuban actor Héctor Noas, and special participation by musicians Cándido Fabré, María Ochoa, Arturo Jorge, David Álvarez, and Julio Montoro.
