Cuban singer Eduardo Antonio, known as 'El Divo de Placetas' is recovering from intestinal complications resulting from his recent time in the operating room undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Eduardo Antonio allegedly suffered an intestinal perforation caused by the intake of medications prescribed after the facial surgery he underwent in recent days, according to América TeVé.
Apparently, the artist's diverticulitis worsened, which led to an intestinal obstruction. Because of this, he had to undergo emergency surgery to suture an intestinal perforation caused by the post-operative complication.
Sources close to the singer told the aforementioned media that El Divo de Placetas is recovering at Hospital Jackson in Kendall, where he was admitted as an emergency in serious condition. According to the information published, the artist underwent surgery to have part of his intestine removed.
"Eduardo Antonio is in serious condition in a Miami hospital, due to an intestinal obstruction. We ask for all your best wishes and prayers for his speedy recovery. Strength Eduardo, we love you! Everything will be fine", said on Facebook the online television channel 'La casa de Maka'.
In recent days, the singer announced on his social networks that he would undergo cosmetic surgery to look younger. He asked his followers not to worry, that he was only going to "take off a few years".
With his plastic surgeon, El Divo confessed to not feeling comfortable with his "neck, face… I feel like it has sagged from so much gaining and losing weight". He also mentioned to him how difficult it is to stay relevant in a music industry that, like almost everything in the entertainment world, focuses mainly on young people.
"Miami, Cuba, I receive terrible news. Eduardo Antonio is in serious condition due to an intestinal obstruction. I ask everyone for prayers and all energy in favor of his recovery. It is fatal news for me. Eduardo is someone I love very much, a friend, a brother and this is affecting me badly. Let us all pray that nothing bad happens", said on his social networks the Cuban comedian and presenter based in Miami, Erich Concepción Quicutis.
