The 19-year-old athlete was the outstanding figure of the Bauhaus Galan Stockholm, winning the long jump with 8m 83cm.
Cuban Juan Miguel Echevarría (19 years old) was the sensation of the athletics tournament in Stockholm (Sweden), for the sixth meeting of the IAAF Diamond League 2018, in which 5 world records were also registered.
Echeverría, who will turn 20 on August 11, jumped 8m 83cm to surpass the world champion in long jump, South African Luvo Manyonga, who finished 3rd (8m 25cm) behind American Jeff Henderson (8m 39cm).
But his mark will not be ratified, since his jump was with a favorable wind of 2.1 meters per second (the maximum is 2m/sec), so his mark for the world ranking is 8m 50cm, achieved on his 4th jump (wind + 0.4 m/sec).
