THE Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine has updated today on the health status of Alberto Juantorena Danger, two-time Olympic champion and emblematic figure of Cuban revolutionary sports.

. He remains reported in stable critical condition with positive response to the installed therapy, with resolution of respiratory insufficiency, improvement in myocardial function and decreased bleeding.

. In the studies conducted, dengue serotype three is confirmed.

. Bacterial pneumonia and the effects of post-COVID syndrome remain, which are being emphasized for their resolution.

. At this time he is on mechanical ventilation and support with vasoactive drugs, showing improvement in both cases.

One of the most iconic athletes Cuba has ever had is undoubtedly Alberto Juantorena, who was crowned in the finals of the 400-meter dash and 800-meter dash at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, a feat that remains alive 48 years later.
