Actor Luis Rielo Celebrates His 90th Birthday

On July 24th, the beloved Cuban actor Luis Rielo celebrated his ninetieth birthday. Throughout his career, Rielo has left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment, primarily in adventure serials and soap operas, but also in film and radio, where he even worked as a director.

With an extensive filmography that includes more than thirty adventure serials, such as "El Halcón Negro" and "La Isla del Tesoro", Rielo's talent and charisma have allowed him to win the hearts of the public, especially through his memorable interpretations of villainous characters.

On television, his unforgettable role as the foreman Matías in the soap opera "Sol de Batey" has remained etched in the memory of several generations of Cubans.

But he has not only shined on the small screen; he has also left his mark on the big screen, starring in films such as "Polo viejo bajo mi piel" and "El Brigadista".

Throughout his distinguished career, Luis Rielo has received well-deserved recognition, including the ACTUAR Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2010 and the Caricato Award in 2012 in the male acting category.

In an interview with Tribuna de La Habana, he pointed out the need for greater rigor and seriousness in television work.
