Edmundo García returns to Miami, and debuts program on Youtube

The well-known Cuban presenter Edmundo García has announced on his social media Facebook that he will be returning to the city of Miami to resume his program "La tarde se mueve", which will now be broadcast on Youtube. Edmundo had returned to Cuba in the context of the worsening of relations between Cuba and the United States under the Trump Administration.

The presenter said on his Facebook social media account: "I am back in Miami, I arrived to resettle in this city and assume my destiny in it; to defend Cuba and its emigration from those who in recent months have unscrupulously attacked and lied about the most noble values of Cubans, as well as to carry out my work as a communicator in the face of the 2020 elections, after Three Kings Day in January, 'La Tarde se Mueve' returns on YouTube every day… I came to ask why knowledge cannot be a luxury, and if knowledge is not a right then it will be a left…. Soon online my people".

A year ago García had reported that he was returning to live permanently in Cuba. He said at that time on Facebook: "I am Edmundo, on Wednesday I return to live permanently in Cuba, I am ending my life as a foreigner. A hug".

Edmundo García has been labeled in Miami as a "communist", as an "agent of State Security", as a "leftist". The truth is that he has declared himself a follower of Fidel Castro, and on the Island he maintains close relations with sectors and people attached to the Cuban government.
