The eighth edition of the International Salsa Festival began on the stage of Club 500 in Havana, presided over by singer Maykel Blanco and under the artistic direction of actress and presenter Edith Massola.
To set the rhythm for dancers who love this genre, the event will run until February 25th, organized by Empresas de Carnavales, Artex, and the Mipyme MB Producciones, with the Paradiso agency as the official receptive.
According to statements by Blanco to the state agency Prensa Latina, four orchestras will perform on the capital's stage each day.
The musical event will host popular groups from the country that champion popular dance music such as Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor, Los Van Van, and Manolito Simonet and his Trabuco.
The international presence will be marked by the arrival of Puerto Rican singer Giro, who will take the festival stage accompanied by the group 8 y Más. Likewise, outstanding national and international DJs will be performing.
One of the novelties of this edition was highlighted by Blanco to the aforementioned media when mentioning the performance of La Original de Manzanillo, in tribute to the 60th anniversary of the founding of this emblematic Cuban orchestra.
The artist also emphasized the festival's connection with artistic education, through master classes and workshops, an opportunity that "will strengthen the exchange of knowledge between students and participating musicians," added Maykel Blanco.
Daily tickets are sold through the La Papeleta platform for 500 CUP. Likewise, interested parties will be able to purchase them at the Astral, Acapulco and Ambassador cinemas, as well as at Club 500, Pabellón Cuba and other state institutions.
Through the aforementioned platform, you can also purchase a package that covers access to all the event's concerts, which will have a price of 1,500 CUP.
