The Foreign Ministers of the Iberoamerican nations declared December 21st as Iberoamerican Dance Day, in tribute to the centennial of the birth of Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso.
According to Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, the decision was made during the Extraordinary Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Iberoamerican Conference, held virtually.
At the meeting, the heads and leaders of delegations addressed aspects such as the need for joint action to combat the serious health, economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The head of Cuban diplomacy advocated for solidarity and cooperation among Iberoamerican nations to face the challenges imposed on developing countries by the crisis stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic, the unjust international order, and the unpayable external debt.
