The Cuban artist Daymé Arocena and her husband Pablo Dewin Reyes are currently preparing the experimental documentary short film, Sunlight Around the Corner: The Golden Sparrow, which "will very soon be available at festivals, cinemas and galleries," she assures in her Facebook profile.

This audiovisual piece is presented by the artist as "the first child of this love," which more than a year ago she conceived together with her romantic partner.
Alafia Films, as Arocena defines it, is "a collective of artistic interaction and collaboration. A space for our individualities to intertwine, and thus reap the sweetest fruits of our harvest".

In the recent post by the creator, photos of the recording appear, taken by @khzen while Arocena and her husband prepared the film's protagonist, Daylin Martinez @shumdesalsa.

Daymé assures that "within the creative processes of @alafiafilms, @pablodewin.raw and I fulfill all kinds of roles. Not only conceptualize or direct, but also shape with our own hands our ideas and dreams".

She also explains that "this extended quarantine has been the perfect excuse to complement our creative processes in a common vision". Alafia Films has an Instagram account and a YouTube channel, you can follow them at these links.
