After some time away from the screen, Cuban actress Daysi Granados has returned to Cuban television, to whom has been recognized with the epithet "The Face of Cuban Cinema." A special performance in the Cuban telenovela "The Face of the Days," which airs on the Cubavisión channel three times a week.

The repulsive character that Daysi has had to portray demonstrates that her histrionic mastery does not age, that she remains the same Teresa that Pastor Vega portrayed in an era. This Mercedes—a possessive, authoritarian, and unbearable grandmother who intends to decide the fate of everyone around her—has managed to awaken feelings of repugnance in those who follow the well-received television proposal.

The prestigious actress has brought to life more than one hundred characters in film and television, giving them different nuances that make up her professional rainbow. Films such as Memorias del subdesarrollo (Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, 1967), Cecilia (Humberto Solás, 1981), Un hombre de éxito (Humberto Solás, 1986), Plaff o demasiado miedo a la vida (Juan Carlos Tabío, 1988), and Las profecías de Amanda (Pastor Vega, 1999) are among the greatest successes of Cuban cinema and all have had Daysi Granados in the leading role.

Now with this new challenge, the multi-awarded actress provokes a renewed closeness to her face, in which the passage of years is noted, but which resists giving up the beauty she has always had. Speaking with many viewers about "The Face of the Days," there have been no shortage of phrases of displeasure toward the stubborn old woman who refuses to acknowledge that her unhealthy feelings harm everyone around her, while distancing her from her family members.

I believe it was a very good decision to assign this outstanding figure of the arts in Cuba to interpret that difficult character, with very conflicting feelings and with a scarce capacity to recognize her mistakes. What I have no doubt about is that Daysi Granados possesses a talent that does not age.
