The show "Humor in Cuban Song" starring singer-songwriters Alejando García Virulo, Jorge Díaz and Tony Ávila will conclude on Saturday, August 18, at the Havana-based Teatro Karl Marx. Sponsored by the Company of Recordings and Musical Editions (Egrem) and the Humor Promotion Center, the tour was well-received by the public in Artemisa, Matanzas, Camagüey, Holguín, Manzanillo and Santiago de Cuba.
Humor in Cuban Song is part of the summer season activities. Furthermore, Virulo, National Humor Award winner 2014, has mentioned that one of the reasons was to introduce his most recent album titled "Por la izquierda." Released under the Egrem record label, the album features songs such as "Delirio de grandeza," "El cubano independiente," "No sé por qué me gustas," "Padre, papá y papi," "Éxito" and "Balazos."
The three composers, although of different styles, have cultivated humor with mastery and include sarcasm, satire and double meaning in their lyrics. All have been part of the Humor Promotion Center.
Judging by the public's reception in the provinces and the artistic quality of the proposal, this will be a recommendable concert. Undoubtedly, an invitation not to be missed during the upcoming weekend, as well as to continue enjoying Cuba in the summer of 2018.
