Cuban singer Rubén Cuesta Palomo, known as Candyman and regarded as one of the pioneers of cubatón, walked away unharmed after the vehicle he was driving in the United States flipped over while he was livestreaming on social media, the artist confirmed through his own Instagram stories.
The incident took place on Tuesday, August 4, when the singer's red Chevrolet rolled over as he sang for his phone camera. Shortly after the crash, Candyman reassured his followers that he was safe, writing on social media: "I'm okay, family. I didn't die."
Footage of the crash quickly spread across Cuban entertainment outlets, drawing a mixed reaction from followers, who expressed relief over his condition while also urging more responsible driving. The artist, who has lived outside Cuba for years, has remained active in music and on social media since the incident.
