Cuban Rivero Receives Honors in European Basketball

With leadership in four offensive categories, Cuban Jasiel Rivero receives honors in the European Basketball Champions League as a pillar in the performance of the champion, Hereda San Pablo Burgos.

With one round remaining before the conclusion of the round of 16 phase, the Caribbean forward-center displays the best performances in two-point and field goal shooting, thanks to effectiveness of 80 and 70%, respectively; valid for highlighting Burgos' classification to the Final Eight.

In his second appearance in the continental tournament, the 27-year-old Cuban international starred in this round with two double-double performances and with a total of three stands out at the forefront of this category among basketball players in his position throughout the entire regular season.

Rivero shows with the Spanish quintet the highest rebound total of the round of 16 with 42, in addition to occupying the seventh place in efficiency per game and accumulating 71 points in five contests and more than 50% average in free throw shooting.

With a record of four wins and one loss, Rivero and Burgos will dispute the top of group J against the also-qualified Spanish team Lenovo Tenerife, next Tuesday.

Another of the Iberian teams assured among the eight best in the Champions League is Casademont Zaragoza, which presents in its roster Cuban Javier Justiz, with performance in only two matches of the preliminary stage.
