Cuban-Spanish artist Chanel Terrero is fighting for a spot to represent Spain at Eurovision 2022, at Benidorm Fest, where she will demonstrate her talent on the Alicante stage.
Coming from the world of musical theater, which has led her to move with ease in several disciplines, which are not mutually exclusive but rather complementary, however, she says: "in Spain even today, although increasingly less so, it's hard to see that many artists are actors, singers and dancers all at the same time."
Her song SloMo, one of the most upbeat of the competition, "Is a song to dance to. It's going to be a 360-degree performance," adds the artist in an interview with Europa Press.
Through producer Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, who knew her from musicals she has starred in like Flashdance, came this track: "The moment I heard it I said: 'I like it, it resonates with me, I'm going to enjoy it'." "It's an opportunity I couldn't let pass, of which nothing has been written about the cowardly," confesses the artist.
Chanel, born in Cuba but living in Spain since childhood, has a long career on stage, especially in musical theaters such as The Bodyguard or The Lion King. About Eurovision, Terrero has confirmed she is "going for it all," although "Right now my first step is Benidorm."
We will have to wait until the end of this month to find out if this young woman is the one who will represent Spain at this important and eagerly awaited song festival, which will be held in Italy.
